BIO

Based in London, UK, Yanna Avlianos makes music under "Astrid's Dream"/ "Yanna A" exploring her heritage, mental health, spirituality and magic through DIY-based writing, recording and production approaches. Inspired by philosophical theories such as Eternalism and Hauntology to guide her musical work, she is always striving to explore new concepts and techniques that align with her musical interests and personal values.

Yanna is also the Lead Music facilitator for a London-based Youth Theatre Charity, creating and delivering bespoke and inclusive sessions for young people aged 12-19 years. As a neurodivergent individual herself, Yanna is very keen to continue exploring different and more accessible ways to engage young people, particularly young women, in music making and artist identity.

Yanna has written articles for The Everyday Magazine about her interest with Women In Experimental Sound and her fascination with ghosts.

"Yanna’s production is incredibly creative here, using lots of layering of vocals and sounds to create an oppressive dizzying feeling, which fits the lyrical theme of the constant danger being perceived female in the streets puts you in, and how tiring it is being afraid and vigilant all the time."
